Secondary school

The stage of Compulsory Secondary School comprises four academic years ranging from 12 to 16 years. The purpose of this stage is to convey to students the basic elements of culture, especially in its scientific, technological, humanistic and artistic aspects. During the secondary school years, study and work habits are consolidated, autonomous learning and the development of students' abilities are encouraged, and young people are taught and accompanied to choose the right options for their future studies and their subsequent incorporation into post-compulsory studies

We work actively to ensure that ESO boys and girls become responsible and acquire the intellectual skills and knowledge necessary to enable them to take a responsible place in life.

The sensitivity to innovation that characterizes our school prepares boys and girls to adapt to a society that is constantly evolving and changing. That is why we offer students the technological means and equipment necessary to achieve this.

Axes that define our secondary school stage

Timetable
Free reception from 7:30. Class hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 13:10 and from 15:00 to 17:00. On Wednesday afternoons the students have no class and one day a week they start at 9:00. Students can extend their day at school with extracurricular activities or participate in the sports club.
Languages
English remains the first foreign language. Some non-language subjects are taught in this language. All ESO students have a second foreign language to choose between French and German.
Exchanges and Language immersion
The school offers students the opportunity to do an exchange experience or quarterly language immersion stays in various European countries as well as in the United States to improve their foreign language learning and also to grow as a person.
Digital culture
All high school students work with their laptop as another tool to access diverse sources of information and be able to transform it into knowledge in a creative way. In this way, students exponentially improve their digital competence through personal and civic responsibility and the care of their digital identity. However, we do not neglect other more traditional strategies such as handwriting, which we also consider necessary in the area of compulsory training.
Entrepreneurship
Through this discipline we help students in making decisions about their training and professional pathway in order to adapt their abilities to working conditions in a continuous process of change. On the other hand, we make them aware of the need to have entrepreneurial initiative, considered not only as a set of qualities and skills needed to create a business, but as a general attitude that can be useful both in professional activities and in everyday life.
Comprehensive training
Through the educational action carried out by the team of tutors, different areas are worked on what we consider essential: reception, guidance, coexistence, strategies for learning more and better, education for health, education in values and emotional education.
Accompaniment and advice
The tutor accompanies the students and their families through various interviews throughout the school year. Psychopedagogues and psychologists follow-up students who need it and guide teachers to adapt learning to each need. The monitoring of students is constant in order to get their best performance.
Diversity
To better pay attention to diversity, Maths and English are organized by level groups. We also have support and extension groups.
FAIG Project
Part of the DESTÍ innovation program. The project gives an extraordinary opportunity for the student to feel the protagonist of their own learning. It allows them to learn to work in a team, cooperatively and responsibly. It enhances creativity and the capacity for reflection, through the development of an interdisciplinary project.
Outings and activities
Each educational level, throughout the school year, plans different activities and outings in the environment to complete the learning of the classroom and encourage the coexistence of the group of students. Each course ends with a field trip.
Extracurricular Activities
A wide range of extracurricular activities are available to students both on Wednesdays from 3pm on, and on other days of the week. Robotics, theatre, public speaking and sports through the sports club stand out.
